Home

We're home! We left Michigan at 8:30 yesterday morning and got back to Nashville at 11:30 last night. It's not that long of a trip, but we had to make a lot of stops along the way - so we just took our time.

Today we are unpacking and recovering. More later.

Checking In

Hello!!

I'm checking in from Missouri tonight on my in-laws' brand-new Mac.  Greg has been on them for the past few years to get one and they finally agreed.  I figured that while I checked my email, I'd pop in here and do a quick post.

Our trip to Palm Springs was great.  Greg felt like it was a good trip from a business standpoint and for me, it was a very nice vacation!  I hung out poolside and got to know Greg's new business partners and their wives.  Plus, Greg's frequent flyer upgrade scored us first-class seats on the St. Louis/Phoenix leg of our trip both coming and going.  (Phoenix/Palm Springs was a regional jet, so first-class was a moot point.)

We got back to Missouri last night and will leave to head toward Michigan tomorrow.  Then we'll meet up with my family at Gull Lake on Saturday and spend the week there.  I do have some pictures but my in-laws don't really need them on their computer, so I'll wait.  If we can get a good wireless connection, I can post them from Gull Lake.

I've missed blogging and keeping up with all of you!  I'll be back soon!

I'm outta here, peeps. I'll do my best to check in from the road, but if not, I'll be back around the 20th.

See ya!

Tired, but Hopeful

I was going to do a Watercooler Wednesday post today. I even had one nearly finished. But today I'm beat and the post was no good, so I deleted it. I was up late watching the new episode of Deadliest Catch, so this morning I look like this:
I have to get started on packing today. I don't really want to. I also have to mow. Don't really want to do that either. I made some poor food choices yesterday and feel like a big ol' slug.

I am hopeful, though. Know why? Because after we visit Greg's parents and make our business trip to California, we will be here:
This dock is just feet from the back door of the house we'll be staying in.

Rest is just around the corner.

Where's My Seatbelt?

I've mentioned before that my family is going to Michigan on July 11 to spend a week at family camp. Needless to say, this event is looked on with great anticipation by all of us. Last night, though, life through us a curve ball. A good one, but a curve ball nonetheless.

Now, instead of having the next 16 days to leisurely get ready for our trip, it seems we are also going to Missouri and California BEFORE we go to Michigan. Yikes.

The trip to Missouri is to spend a few days with Greg's parents and pick up the car we have sort of inherited. However, the trip now will serve as double-duty because we are hoping the kids can stay with them for a few days while Greg and I fly to California. Greg has a new business opportunity with two friends there, which should be great - but we need to fly out to have some meetings to get all the details hashed out. Hopefully, Greg and I will be in San Francisco for two days, then fly back to Missouri and then drive from there to Michigan the next day.

In the midst of this, I'm still trying to figure out how to pay the bills and get everything done. I'm teaching a class at the Neighborhood Knit Shop on Saturday, then I'll be at church most of the day on Sunday, Greg has a day trip to Dayton, OH on July 1 and we hope to leave for Missouri on July 2. Oh, and I'm scheduled to teach another knitting class the day after we return from Michigan.

I think I'd better buckle up. It may be a bumpy ride. If I don't post as much in the next three weeks, I hope you understand.
